Leonard Lee Woodfin

December 10, 1925 — June 2, 2014

Leonard Lee Woodfin, 88, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at John J. Pershing V.A. Hospital.

Mr. Woodfin was born December 10, 1925, in Lutesville, MO, to the late John and Nellie Shell Woodfin.

On August 6, 1944, he and Mary Helen Hindman were married in Piggott, AR.

Mr. Woodfin was a member of Fellowship General Baptist Church, had served his country in the United States Army, and was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, woodworking, golfing and listening to gospel music.

Survivors include his wife; three children: Julia Lowe (Stan), of Gatlinburg, TN, John Woodfin (Janice), of Pearl River, LA, and Jack Woodfin (Judy) of Poplar Bluff; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and two brothers: Ivan Woodfin, of Advance, MO, and Clinton Woodfin, of Bolivar, MO.

His parents, and a daughter, JoAnn Rice, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 ? 8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the chapel, with Jack Woodfin and Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, at 12 p.m.
