Leroy Heaton

Leroy Heaton, 86, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at The Cedargate in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mr. Heaton was born June 23, 1925 in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, was a retired insurance agent for a State Farm Insurance Agency, and was a member of the Amvets. Mr. Heaton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a Navy submariner during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.
In 1947, he was married to Georgiabelle Miller. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2008.
Surviving are three children, Ann Carter of Cotopaxi, CO, Bill Heaton of Jackson, MO and Bob Heaton of Memphis, TN; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. ? 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Gerald Wittmaier officiating. Burial will be at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
