Leroy Patterson

Leroy Patterson passed from this world at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011.

Leroy was born May 14, 1956 in Gideon, Mo. to Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Leona (Duvall) Patterson, both now deceased. He graduated from high school in 1974 from Twin Rivers, and attended classes at Three River College and SEMO. Leroy worked at Mingo Job Corp, Department of Mental Health, Adapt and Missouri Division of Youth Services before Multiple Sclerosis disabled him in 1989. He was instrumental in the organization and opening of the Independent Living Center of Poplar Bluff and served on the board. Leroy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, music, sports and hunting,

Surviving are two sons, Jason and Crystal Patterson and Kent and Kristin Patterson all of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Katy Patterson of Naylor, Mo.; four grandchildren, Trenton, Hallie, Allison and Jadon; and a host of friends and coworkers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel with Mr. Greg Carman officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
