Leta Lee Whiteley, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away on December 22, 2017 at Hearthside Senior Living Center in Collierville, TN., with her family at her side.
She was born on March 10, 1928 to Harrison and Cora (Druly) Snodgrass in Moark, AR. and, graduated from Neelyville High School where she played varsity basketball and, was a very talented concert pianist.
She owned and operated Leta Lee's Gifts with Love for over 10 years where she was able to define the phrase, "A people person", being able to strike up a conversation with anyone at any time in any place. She was married to Mack the love of her life and was a member of the 1st Baptist Church.
Leta had served as a member of The Downtown Development Group, President of Citizenship Club, President and treasurer of the Butler County Women's Democrat Club, and, enjoyed volunteering for The Hospital Auxiliary.
Leta is survived by, (2) Sons, Danny (Gale) Whiteley of Poplar Bluff, Andy (Laurie) Whiteley of Michigan City, Mississippi; and, (1) Daughter, Nancy (Ken) Massey of Cordova, TN.
(3) Grandsons, Jason (Monica) Whiteley of Jenks, Oklahoma, Brandon Whiteley of Memphis, Tennessee, Justin Hodges of Memphis, Tennessee.
(3) Granddaughters, Erika Whiteley and (fiancée Heath Boucher) of Galion, Ohio, Lindsey (Daniel) Wells of Memphis, Tennessee, Courtney (Arturo) Marquez of Memphis, Tennessee.
(5) Great-Grandchildren, Ella Kate & Jack Whiteley of Jenks, Oklahoma, Annie & Mack Wells of Memphis, Tennessee, and, Penelope Marquez of Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Mack Whiteley, her Father, Harrison Snodgrass Sr., Mother-Cora Snograss, and, Brother's, Danny Snodgrass, and, Harrison Snodgrass, Jr.
The family extends a special thanks to the Hearthside Senior Living Center in Tennessee, and, to a very special friend, Willie Mae Harris.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop Ron Webb officiating.
Burial will take place in the Corning Arkansas Cemetery.
