Lewis Ellis ""Huey"" Minton, 84, of Ellsinore, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Saturday Aug. 27, 2011 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Minton was born June 27, 1927 in Butler County, Mo. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and was a retired farmer. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting wood and working on lawn mowers.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Dessie Minton Parrish; four nieces, Freda Wesson, Patsy Wesson, Vicky Trober and Sharon Quigley; five nephews, Chester Hardin, Kenneth Hardin, Melvin Hardin, Tommy Hardin and Leon Wilson; his longtime companion, Betty McKnight of Ellsinore and her family; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
His parents, Shedrick and Leva (Blanton) Minton, sisters, Gladys Coble, Colya Hardin, Fern Wilson and Magaline Minton and brothers, Dewy Minton and Leonard Minton preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley with Pastor Tim Freeman officiating.
