Lillian Clanahan

M. Lillian Clanahan, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away on December 24, 2009. A Celebration of life will be Monday, December 28th at 9:30 a.m. at Cotrell Funeral Service, 701 Vine Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo 63901. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64138.

Lillian was born August 8, 1924 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to Mansel E. and Della M. (Mitchener) Gilliam. She was a hospital administrator for 30 years at Poplar Bluff Hospital and 10 years at Lucy Lee Hospital. She married Cecil Lawrence Clanahan on August 28, 1946. Her favorite things include; playing golf, traveling and playing cards with the girls. She was the last founding member of the Altrusa Club in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil. Survivors include her 2 children; son, Randal Clanahan & wife Kim, Ballwin, Mo., daughter, Margery Clanahan, Kansas City, Mo., a brother, Millard Thomas Gilliam, Poplar Bluff, Mo. and many nieces & nephews.
