Lois Eva DeShaney, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. DeShaney, the daughter of the late Jack and Della Luke Crider, was born Feb. 25, 1933 in Williamsville, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. During her earlier years, she worked in a garment factory in Piedmont. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, baking, canning and listening to good old country music.
Survivors include nine children: Cevis (Sheila) Smith of Poplar Bluff, Marilyn (Thomas) Wright of Harviell, Willie (Kaye) Julian of St. James, Melvin (Lori) Julian of Harviell, Elvis (Linda) DeShaney of Piedmont. Rosalie Malloy of Poplar Bluff, Douglas DeShaney of Piedmont, Terry DeShaney of Van Buren and Roy (Angie) DeShaney of Poplar Bluff; 27 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Truman (Ollie) Gaultney of Boomer, NC.
A brother, Cledis Gaultney and a sister, Dorothy Livingston also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral chapel with Chaplain Bill Orr officiating and Rev. Richard Sanders assisting. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
