Lois Wood

Lois Wood, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Wood was born March 8, 1933 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, and for many years she had worked as a nurse for the Hoya Medical practice. Ms. Wood enjoyed her church, swimming, bowling, skating and playing the piano.

On Sept. 23, 1953 she married Charles Thomas Jefferson. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children: Tommy L Jefferson of Doniphan and Deborah D. Summers of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Patricia Barish of St. Louis; and four brothers, Cecil R. Million of Poplar Bluff, Alvin L. Million of Baltimore, Paul Million of Bland and Chris Weatherford of New York.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with the Dr. Steve Proctor and the Rev. Jim Osborn officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
