Lola Mae Cox, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Cox was born Aug. 13, 1935 in Holcomb, Mo. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cox had earlier retired as a programmer for South Western Bell. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, fishing and cooking.
In 1996, she married Samuel Eugene Cox in the Chaonia community of Williamsville, Mo. Mr. Cox survives.
Other survivors include three grandchildren, Janice Barnes and husband James of Springfield, Mo., James C. Willard and Lesley D. Willard and wife Jessica all of Poplar Bluff; seven great-grandchildren, Regina Bales, Patricia Bales, Lesley Willard II, Curtis Willard, Amanda Ellis, Tallis Willard and Ashley Willard; three great-great grandchildren, Lola Williams, Caden Graves and Elizabeth Ellis; two sisters, Sandra McMurthy and husband Phillip of Warrensburg, Mo. and Wilma Raysin of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Estil McElwrath and wife Bonda of Holcomb, Mo.
Her parents, Lesley D. and Ethel (Hays) Warren and daughter, Regina Paulette (Keys) Brummett preceded Mrs. Cox in death.
The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Cemetery off W Hwy in Butler County with Rev. Danny Helton officiating.
