Lorene Christian

Lorene Christian, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Christian, the daughter of the late William Henry and Josie Wheeler Hubbard, was born Dec, 25, 1925 in Briar, Mo. She was an active member of First Church of God and was a homemaker. Mrs. Christian was also active in the Gideon International and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family.

She was married to Murl Christian on Fb. 17, 1956 in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Christian is survived by four sons, Michael Lynn (Shirley) Christian of Ellsinore, Mo., Allen Murl (Nancy) Christian and David Lee Christian of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Joseph Shawn (Leslie) Christian of Arlington, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Christian was also preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.


The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First church of God with Rev. Scott Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
