Lorraine Kay “Katy” Keele, 71, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Katy, the daughter of the late Jack and Violet Colyott Keele, was born Oct. 8, 1946 in St. Louis. She was of the Baptist faith. Katy was the previous owner of Katy Kay’s Sports Bar and Grill in Poplar Bluff and Katy Kay’s Place in Ellsinore. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Katy is survived by her children, Karen Ann Brannum (Jeff Trammell) of Poplar Bluff, Greg (Dori) Gaines of Muskegon, Michigan. and Jackie (Steven) McDonald of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Kristy Brannum, Carrie (Clay) Peterson, Lyndon (Nick) Green, Nicholas (Ashley) McDonald, Ryan McDonald and Jackson McDonald; eight great-grandchildren, William Ward, Elizabeth Brannum, Korbin Green, Nixon Green, Nora Green, Piper McDonald, Kai Peterson and James Peterson and a ninth, Evie, on her way. She is also survived by a brother, Buddy Keele of Carmel, Indiana ; and five sisters, Leona (Harvey) Perry of Poplar Bluff, Della Curd of Bloomfield, Betty (Buddie) Smith and Shirley Cheshire of Poplar Bluff and Sharon (Greg) Pryor of Van Buren.
A sister, Rita Keele, a sister-in-law Julie Keele, and a brother-in-law, Tommy Curd also preceded Katy in death.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at noon Saturday, April 28 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
