Louisa F Holsapple

July 19, 1925 — August 20, 2016

Louisa F. Holsapple, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Holsapple, the daughter of the late John F. and Rosa Staggs Bristol, was born July 19, 1925 in Ravenden, Ark. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Holsapple enjoyed going to church, working in her yard, sewing and gardening, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family.

On April 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ira C. Holsapple. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1985.

Survivors include five children; Judy (Dennis) Lee of Dexter, Mo., John (Ruth) Holsapple of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Henry Holsapple of Poplar Bluff, Julia Alexander of Poplar Bluff, Herbie (Lisa) Holsapple of Corning Ark.; two brothers; Darold (Pat) Bristol of Rockford, Ill. and James (Carol) of Jacksonville, Fl.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Holsapple was preceded in death by four sisters; Kathleen Bristol, Veda Walker, Juanita Rutledge and Mary Jane Gray, and three brothers; Harvey Bristol, Tom Bristol and John Bristol.

The visitation will begin at noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with her son Herbert L. Holsapple officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
