Lucas Nathaniel Francis

Lucas Nathaniel Francis, 24, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 in Potosi, Mo. as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Lucas was born July 17, 1990 in Poplar Bluff to Kenneth M. Francis, Jr. and Monique R. Lawrence Francis Gribbins. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and had graduated this year, Suma Cum Laude with a double Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Biology from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Lucas was employed as Director of Activities for the Potosi YMCA Trout Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist and enjoyed fishing. He loved music, especially participating in band and choir, working with children and playing video games.

Lucas is survived by his mother, Monique Gribbins, of Poplar Bluff; father, Kenneth M. Francis, Jr. (Melissa), of Wappapello, Mo.; three brothers: Kenyan Michael Francis, of Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Tex., Hudson James Francis and Billy Daniel Gribbins; a step-brother, Jayden Rand Woolverton; two step-sisters: Brittany Nicole Phelps and Kadeigh Leeann Woolverton; grandparents: Jim and Carla Lawrence, of Poplar Bluff and Kenneth Sr. and Joan Francis, of Wappapello; an aunt, Jeanine Bradley (Shannon); an uncle, Jack Francis; and two cousins: Peyton Bradley and Paige Bradley.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Mo.
