Mackenzie Smith-Robinson

March 25, 1979 — April 25, 2018

Mackenzie D. Robinson (Smith) of Poplar Bluff, Mo, died at her home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Kenzie was born on March 25, 1979 in Poplar Bluff, Mo to Susan C. Rosenquist and Alan B. Smith. She and Kevin A. Robinson were married on July 5, 2015 in Poplar Bluff, after nearly a decade together.

She had a passion for working with kids. Had her health allowed her, Kenzie always aspired to be a special needs teacher. She was an employee of the Poplar Bluff School district from 2003 until 2015 with the last 6 years at PBJHS.

She had great compassion for others and selflessness. Her smile and pleasant demeanor was contagious. Mackenzie was such a blessing to everyone that came in contact with her. She was always patient, kind, and had a wonderful personality. She would put everyone else's needs in front of her own.

She always looked forward to spending time and playing with her nieces and nephews. They would bring such joy to her day no matter how she felt.

She loved sewing and crafts, fishing, and camping. She enjoyed cooking with her husband, Kevin, and playing card or board games with family and friends. Kenz was very (very) competitive in all that she did. Although she was a (very) sore loser, she would keep on until she eventually won.

The world has lost a bright smile and an even brighter light which will forever leave a void within any heart who knew and loved Mackenzie.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin A. Robinson of Poplar Bluff; her mother, Susan C. Rosenquist of Poplar Bluff; her brother, A. Bradley Smith of New York, NY; two step-brothers, Rob Rosenquist (wife, Berkley) of Jackson, and Ryan Rosenquist of Springfield; two nephews, Jonathan and Ryan Rosenquist of Jackson; three nieces, Caroline Rosequist of Jackson, and Maci and Brileigh Robinson of Dexter; parents-in-law David & Christine Robinson of Dexter; her grandma Madeline Hoxworth of Poplar Bluff; and her step-grandma LaVerne Rosenquist of Kelso.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alan B. Smith, and her very loved step-father Carl E. Rosenquist.

Friends may visit from 2 to 3 PM on Sunday, April 29, at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. Mackenzie's Celebration of Life will begin immediately following visitation at 3 PM in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel.
