Malcolm Vinton Harrison, 66, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Harrison was born April 16, 1945 in Lawrence County, Mo. He previously lived in Grandin and Ellsinore but most of his life was lived in Poplar Bluff where he graduated from Poplar Bluff High, and later attended Rounsaville Business College. Mr. Harrison worked several years at the old Tollner Bakery, and later at Stiber's Gas Station which eventually became Osborn's One-Stop. He preferred the farm life and enjoyed talking about his horses, dogs and other animals. Mr. Harrison also enjoyed reading, hunting, watching basketball games and western movies on TV and playing games on the computer.
Survivors include a sister, Shirley J. Boxx of Poplar Bluff; two aunts, Florene Harrison of Everton, Mo. and Sadie Snell of Roosevelt, Utah; and numerous cousins and friends.
His father, Malcolm Asberry Harrison and mother and stepfather, Iona Elizabeth (Deeder) Harrison Boxx and Sylvester Quincy Boxx preceded Mr. Harrison in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel with The Rev. James Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
