Mammie Terria Bowen, 94, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Ms. Bowen was born Nov. 25, 1916 in Hardin County, Tenn. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker. Ms. Bowen enjoyed participating in activities and attending church services at the nursing home.
Survivors include a brother, John Bowen and wife Audrey of Adairsville, Ga.; sister-in-laws, Laverne Bowen also of Adairsville, Ga. and Joyce Bowen of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Ezra and Lillie (Asbille) Bowen, sisters, Myrlee Stewart and Pearl Stricklin and brothers, Elic Bowen, Clyde Bowen, Bill Bowen, James Bowen, Herschel Bowen and John Bowen preceded Ms. Bowen in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with Laverne Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Mounts Park Cemetery in New Madrid County, Mo.
