Maona Kysar, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Kysar was born March 15, 1934 in Butler County to the late Ralph and Genettie Hill Brown. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Kysar loved spending time with her family, especially with her granddaughter, music, traveling, playing bridge, flowers, reading, bowling, volleyball and swimming.
On Aug. 1, 1953, she married Orville J. Kysar in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1997.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Kysar Oleinik (Izzy), of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a son, Gary Kysar (Sandra Hatchell), of Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kysar Oleinik, of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, J.R. Brown (Eva); a sister, Vida Lee Snider, all of Poplar Bluff; a loving caretaker and friend, Jean Hess, of Poplar Bluff; a special family friend, Dennis Fowler, also of Poplar Bluff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Janet Kaye Kysar who passed away on March 2, 1996, a brother, Leo Brown, and a brother-in-law, Louie Snider also preceded Mrs. Kysar in death.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. David Huck officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
