Marcia Charlene Johnson

Marcia Charlene Johnson, 79, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, July 22, 2011 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 17, 1932 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class, and was a member of the ZTA College Sorority. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and reading.

On May 17, 1953, she married Leroy Francis Johnson in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death on March 3, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Johnson and wife Tara of Poplar Bluff and Mark Johnson and wife Ann of Marble Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren, Marcus Johnson and wife Misty, Clark Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Macy Johnson and Preston Johnson; a great-grandson, Walker Johnson; and a sister, Joyce Ann Wilson of Poplar Bluff.

Her parents, Harry Charles and Alma Worley Harrison and a sister, Mary Jacqueline ""Jackie"" Harrison also preceded Mrs. Johnson in death.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel with Dr. William Vail officiating. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
