Margaret E. "Maggie" Sparkman Casinger

Margaret "Maggie" E. Casinger, 68, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Casinger, the daughter of the late Jack and Ruth Brown Sparkman, was born Sept. 22, 1947 in Butler County, Mo. She was of the General Baptist faith and had retired after many years in retail sales. Mrs. Casinger enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and working in her yard.

On June 7, 1974, she married Fred J. Casinger in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include two sisters, Patricia Thomas of Arizona and Carol Henderson of Colorado; a brother, Denny Sparkman of Poplar Bluff; two step-daughters, Tracy (Steve) Ferguson of Poplar Bluff and Shelly Casinger of Branson; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Kurt) Dumey and Zachary (Abby) Ferguson of Poplar Bluff and Andrej Casinger of Branson; a great-grandchild, Gabrill Dumey of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Interment will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
