Margaret B. Scoggins

Margaret Belle Scoggins, 80, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at her residence.

Ms. Scoggins was born May 6, 1931 in Poplar Bluff. She was a graduate of Marble Hill grade school and Poplar Bluff High School. During her early years Ms. Scoggins worked in several offices in Poplar Bluff before attending Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau where she obtained a B.A. degree. Several months later she began her career with the Social Security Administration where she remained until her retirement. After retirement Ms. Scoggins enjoyed compiling and having published by the Anundsen Publishing Company of Decorah, Iowa her family history, The Scoggins Family, An American Saga, 1640 - 2002.

Several cousins survive Ms. Scoggins.

A graveside service and burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
