Marguerite Elizabeth Roberson

Marguerite Elizabeth Roberson, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Roberson, the daughter of the late Frank and Marguerite Ballard Holcomb, was born April 26, 1924 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church and the Julia Kraft Guild. During her early years she worked as a teller for The Bank of Poplar Bluff and later retired as a bookkeeper for Pack’s Do It Center in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of The Friends of the Library Board, Monday Study Club and The Lunch Bunch. Mrs. Roberson enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her flower garden.

On Feb. 13, 1958, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Reed Roberson at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1972.

A brother, Frank Winfield Holcomb also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Fred Holcomb (Laura) Roberson of Arnold and their children Peter Stewart Roberson and Claire Elizabeth Roberson and Kevin Reed (Constance “Connie”) Roberson of Poplar Bluff and their children Rose Elizabeth Roberson and Gregory Paul Roberson.The visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Lay Worship Leader Mike Malone officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Poplar Bluff Children’s Library.
