Marian Irene Lindner

Marian Irene Lindner, 79, longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Thursday, June 12, 2014 in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born February 2, 1935, and was a graduate of Rapid City High School, Rapid City, SD in 1953.

She married Melvin Lindner on January 9, 1953, while he was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, SD.

Marian enjoyed an adventurous and cultured life as a 26 year military spouse. She lived in many locations to include Oslo, Norway; London, England; Mons, Belgium; Rantoul, Ill.; and the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. She studied classical piano for 12 years and had a deep appreciation for beautiful and complex music. She loved working in her garden, cooking, and canning. Family gatherings were most important to her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and humor.

Marian is survived by her husband Melvin; her 5 children: Patrick Lindner of Panama City Beach, Fla., Blake Lindner, and wife Enid, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Bruce Lindner, and wife Kathy, of Waseca, Minn., Barbara Glenn, and husband Greg, of Alexandria, Va., and Scott Lindner, and wife Pamela, of Havelock, NC; 5 grandchildren: Brian, Melanie and Mark Lindner and Mary Kate and Gunner Glenn.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff, Mo. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. There will be an interment at a later date.
