Marilyn Yvonne Vasicek

Marilyn Yvonne Vasicek, 66, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Vasicek was born Dec. 22, 1943 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Twin Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and had provided child day care services in her home until retirement. Mrs. Vasicek enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and reading, especially books on war history.

On June 10, 1978 she married Henry ""Hank"" Vasicek in Owosso, Mich. He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Carol Lawrence and Becky Carroll-Perryman of Poplar Bluff; and sons, Paul Penn of Columbia and Gary Carroll of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Sharon Kay King of Broseley.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Moore officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
