Mario Steven Canania

Mario Steven Canania, 58, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of St. Charles, Mo. died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Canania was born Jan. 4, 1953 in St. Louis, Mo. He worked many years for the City of Creve Coeur, Mo. in the public works department, and relocated to Poplar Bluff in 2009. Mr. Canania enjoyed working on his home, computers, guns and knives.

Survivors include 2 children, Tracy Lynn Boatright and husband Billy of DeSoto, Mo. and Steven Charles Canania of Daytona, Fla.; 2 grandchildren, Emily and Austin Hess; 2 sisters, Anita Maria Ross of Poplar Bluff and Marcella Ruth Brooks of House Springs, Mo.; and 4 brothers, Michael Canania, Daniel Canania and John Andrew Canania all of Poplar Bluff and Gilbert Neal Canania of Kirkwood, Mo.

Mr. Canania was preceded in death by his parents, Marino Lee and Frances Juanita Simpson Canania.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
