POPLAR BLUFF

Longtime Poplar Bluff resident, Marion Parks, 94, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1931, to Leo and Violet Parks on a farm in New Madrid County, Missouri. Marion had four brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his brothers, J.L., Stanley, Jim, and David; sisters, Lois and Frances. He is survived by his twin sister, Coradell Mitchell, of Chaffee, Missouri.

Marion married Patricia Ruth Clayton in 1953. The couple had two sons, Tommy and Doug. Both his wife and sons preceded him in death.

Marion and Pat moved to Poplar Bluff in October 1957. He worked for the Miller Mutual Insurance Company in Poplar Bluff for more than twenty years. After retiring, he worked as a bail bondsman for Griffin Bail Bonds for thirty years. He also served with the Missouri National Guard for more than two decades.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at First Christian Church of Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Jason Jordan officiating.
