Marjorie Lavada Donley

Marjorie LaVada Donley 86, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her home.

Marjorie was born on December 3, 1932 and lived in Poplar Bluff her entire life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She had worked at Cumbee’s Fabrics and was Manager of Discount Fabrics in the Mansion Mall for several years. Marjorie worked at Ozark Border in the Billing Department for many years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, fishing on Current River, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.

On December 24, 1952, Marjorie was united in marriage to H. Bernell Donley in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. They were married 52 years. Bernell preceded her in death on November 23, 2004.

She is survived by twin daughters, Janiece Mitchell of Osage Beach, MO and Deniece Prince and husband Gary of Belton, TX; one son Greg Donley and wife Shelli of Harviell, MO; one brother David Anthony and wife Joyce of Kennett, MO; two grandchildren: Dr. Whitney Prince and husband Justin Sorrells of Belton, TX; Brent Mitchell of Mankato, MN; three step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren Everett and Elyse Sorrells and 3 step great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Jessie L. Anthony, and one brother Charles R. Anthony.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will follow in Sparkman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church.
