Martha Vilene Eaton

Martha Vilene Eaton, 98, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Eaton, the daughter of the late Joseph Eldon and Hixie Mae Howard Pigg, was born July 6, 1917 in Cool Springs, Mo. She was a member of Westside Church of God and was a homemaker. Mrs. Eaton loved to spend time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Burns of St. Louis; three grandchildren: Sandra Mulherin of Ballwin, and Cynthia Helfrich and Charles Burns of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren: Andrew Mulherin and Ryan (Kelly) Mulherin; a sister, Pauline Prosise; a brother, Gene Pigg of Williamsville, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.

Her husband, Joy Eaton and a son, Larry Leroy Eaton also preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Jim Schremp will officiate. Interment will take place at Cool Springs Cemetery in Wayne County. All family and friends are welcomed back to Grandma's house for dinner.

Instead of flowers, the family has ask that memorial donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Mrs. Eaton's memory, which she would have loved.
