Martha Lena Pearl, 91, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Oakdale Skilled Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Pearl was born Aug. 30, 1921 in Poplar Bluff, and was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1940. Over the years she attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Memorial Baptist Church and most recently, Little Brown General Baptist Church. Mrs. Pearl retired from Shady Grove State School as a bus driver and teacher's aid. She loved to spend time with her family, sewing and especially enjoyed quilting.
On Dec. 10, 1945, she married Carson Pearl in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children: James A. Pearl, of Poplar Bluff, and Mickey Daniels (Jim), of Ponca City, Okla.; three grandchildren: Mindy Pearl, of Poplar Bluff, Jamie Wells (NGA), of Ponca City, Okla. and Jennifer Wells, of Tulsa, Okla.; and three great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Mathey and Katie Luber Adair also preceded Mrs. Pearl in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel with Pastor Kenny Durham officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
