Mary Ellen Aldrich, 88, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Mercy South in St. Louis, MO.
Mary was born on January 28, 1938, to Marvin and Caroline (Miller) Burkhart in Camden, New Jersey. She married Charles "Chuck" Sydney Aldrich Jr. on October 15, 1958, in Stratford, New Jersey.
Mary was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1972, Mary and Chuck relocated to Southeast Missouri. Several years later, Chuck entered into ministry and so began a life full of serving others for both he and Mary. She had a kind, compassionate, and selfless soul that made others feel loved and seen. She had a servant's heart, always going above and beyond to help others in need. Most importantly, Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved her family fiercely. She will be deeply missed by her family, church family, and friends.
Mary is survived by her four children, Chuck (Thelma) Aldrich, Fred (Cathy) Aldrich, Bonnie (Robert) Lourance, and Carolyn (Rob) Lambeth; thirteen grandchildren, Summer (Zach) Morrison, Jessica (Dustin) Hogan, Ben Ruhl, Erin (Chris) Longo, Zach Ruhl, Priscilla (Josh) McGonigal, Samantha (Ryan) Kovach, Aaron (Megan) Aldrich, Benjamin Malkowski, Brandon Malkowski, Justin (Heather) Elliott, Miranda Lourance, and Matthew Lourance; thirty-eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Mary was preceded by her husband, Chuck Aldrich; four sisters, Caroline, Marion, Lillian, and Virginia; grandson, Brandon Louis-Kip Malkowski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at Twin Springs Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow beginning at Noon with Pastor Roger Mayo officiating. Burial will take place at Lone Hill Cemetery.
