Mary Lee Casey

Mary Lee Casey, 82, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Cedargate Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Casey was born Nov. 15, 1926 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of First Christian Church, and had retired from J. J. Newberry's Dept. Store. Mrs. Casey enjoyed reading, shopping, crocheting and needlepoint and traveling.

On Oct. 31, 1946 she married James A. Casey in Clay County, Ark. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1991.

Survivors include a son, Arnold Casey and wife Janice, of Poplar Bluff; two daughters: Sharon Hawkins and husband Nathan and Jamie Stanfield and husband Kevin, all of Sikeston; 5 grandchildren: Angie Gregory and husband Lindel, Chad Casey and wife Amanda, Nathan W. Hawkins, Casey Worley and husband Jeremy and Joshua Stanfill; 10 great-grandchildren: James Worley, Chyanne Worley, Jordan Worley, Tyler Hawkins, Abby, Kacey and Lilly Gregory and Chaz, Avery and Adrianne Casey.

Her parents, James Lloyd and Birdie Irene (Bennett) Gamble, an infant sister and a brother, James Gamble preceded Mrs. Casey in death.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel with Dr. Steven Williams officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
