Mary Sandra Godwin, 86, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026.
Mary was born on November 3, 1939, to Hardin and Marvine (Line) Henrickson in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She married Luther P. (Buddy) Godwin on September 17, 1960.
Mary lived a full and blessed life, spending her time with family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and painting, always sharing her handmade creations with friends and family. Of all her hobbies, golf was by far her favorite. She and her golfing buddies traveled all over Southeast Missouri playing in tournaments, often winning! She was a member of the Westwood Hills Country Club and the Missouri Ladies Golf Association for many years.
Mary graduated from Poplar Bluff Senior High School and attended Southern Methodist University where she became a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She worked as a PE teacher for several years and later obtained her Real Estate License, working for Keele Realty.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Buddy; children Becky (Kent) Eyler, Bobby (Beth) Godwin, and Ben (Kelly) Godwin; her grandchildren, Aaron Boner, Austin Boner, Sydney (Austin) Stephens, John-Paul Godwin, Sara (Coe) Rose, Joseph (Schae) Eyler and Charly Sue Godwin; Great Grandchildren, Cooper and Caroline Rose, Jax, Raith and Bryer Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardin O. Henrickson and Marvine (Line) Henrickson and her brother Hardin Marshall Henrickson II.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10:30am- 12:00pm at Cottrell Willow Ridger Funeral and Cremations Services in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral Services will follow beginning at noon with Jacob Hogg officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Children’s Miracle Network.
