Mary Frances Hunt, 90, of Broseley died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hunt was born Feb. 12, 1920 in Guntown, Miss. She was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was very active until her health began to fail. Mrs. Hunt had retired from Lucy Lee Hospital as a supervisor in Environmental Services. She enjoyed her church, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, gardening and growing flowers.
Mrs. Hunt's husband, Tommy Clifton Hunt, Sr. preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2009.
Survivors include her children: Amos Hunt and wife Shirley of Kileen, Tex., Robert Hunt and wife Revia, of Poplar Bluff, Tommy Hunt, Jr. of Higginsville, Martener Thomas of Broseley, Jane Ellison and husband Larry of Poplar Bluff, Bonnie Hunt of Sikeston, Denise Harper of Detroit, Mich., and Lou Retta Jefferson and husband, the Rev. Andrew Jefferson also of Poplar Bluff, Harvey Hunt and wife Stella of Broseley and Johnnie Hamber and husband Charles of St. Louis; 55 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Her parents, Amos Wade and Florence Agnew Johnson Wade, sister, Virgie, brothers, Herbert and Johnny and two grandchildren preceded Mrs. Hunt in death.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Broseley with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating and the Rev. Johnny Williams and The Rev. Darnell McComb assisting. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
