Mary Ann Johnson, 87, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 26, 1922 in Tupelo, Miss. In 1963 she moved her family to Poplar Bluff to the Morocco community. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Broseley where she served as church treasurer and usher for many years. She also worked for the election board for many years, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening and growing plants and service.com flowers.
She was married to Willie Johnson who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters: Ernestine Roberts of Broseley and Barbara McKeller and Carolyn Mason both of Poplar Bluff; four sons: Ezell Holloway Jr., of Marion, Ill. and Albert Johnson, Harold Johnson and Danny Johnson all of Poplar Bluff; 33 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Jefferson officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
