Mary Sue (Copas) Kruse

Mary Sue Copas Kruse, 69, of Doniphan, Mo, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Kruse was born September 20, 1944 in Rockford, IL, to the late Leslie and Phyllis Estes Copas.

On March 28, 1969, she and Robert J. Kruse were married in Rockford, IL. She was of the Catholic faith and had worked as her husband's secretary in the tire industry for 35 years. She loved being at the sea and enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as (Grammy).

Survivors include her husband, children: James Kruse of Rockford, IL, Vicky Stucker (Steve) of Ellsinore, MO, Deanna Kruse of Monroe, WI, and Robert A. Kruse of Ft. Atkinson, WI; nine grandchildren: Christopher Tackett of Monroe, WI, Justin Nance of Grandin, MO, Benjamin Tackett of Monroe, WI, Laura Nance of Grandin, MO, Dannielle Kammerud of Monroe, WI, and Robert J. Kruse, Emily Kruse and Ryan Kruse all of Rockford, IL and Rusty Stucker of Grandin, MO; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Bill Copas (Jean) of Rockford, IL, James Copas (Sherry) of Boca Raton, FL, Richard Copas (Nini) of Seattle, WA; sisters: Sally Carlson, of Rockford, IL, Carol Sutton, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Joan Gorman (Jay) of Rockford, IL; sister- in law, Donna Copas, of Greenville, MO; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law: James and Cindy Frazier of Ellsinore, MO; a great-grand dog, Chloe; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A grandson, Joshua Kruse, brother, Michael Copas, and brother-in-law, Chuck Sutton also preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Rockford, IL with Father Leonard Jacobs officiating.

A luncheon for family and friends will follow from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Lambordi Club in Rockford.
