Mary Lavina Hager Pennington

Mary Lavina Hager Pennington, 88, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011 at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Pennington was born March 17, 1922 in Hendrickson, Mo. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and had retired from the Missouri Division of Family Services as a supervisor. Mrs. Pennington enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping and traveling.

On Dec. 27, 1945, she married Ellis Hager. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1984. On Aug. 10, 1985, she married Audrey E. Pennington. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2006.

Survivors include two children, Patricia (E.L.) Hupp of Naylor and John (Terri) Hager of Medina, Ohio; 3 step-daughters, Saundra (Terry) Burns, Diana (Tirey) Patterson and Jerry (Rich) Fuller all of Texas; 3 grandchildren, Jeannie Isom, Tonya Hill and Tyler Hager; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jenna Isom and Livvy Isom.

Her parents, Charlie and Tennie (Hedspeth) Murray also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Kinsey Cemetery in Butler County.
