Mary Elizabeth (Strenfel) Mineart

July 12, 1925 — August 14, 2014

Mary Elizabeth Strenfel Mineart, known to her family and friends as Liz, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away peacefully, August 14, 2014, at Mark Twain Caring Center, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Mineart was born July 12, 1925 in Poplar Bluff, MO, to the late Lloyd and Autumn Marie Lynn.

On December 24, 1947, she married Fred Strenfel in Poplar Bluff. He passed away December 3, 1983. On January 18, 1964, she married Clarence Mineart in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1971. Mrs. Mineart was a member of First Church of God and the WCG women's organization. She was a district sales manager for Stanley Home Products.

Survivors include her two daughters: Vicki Strenfel Gex and her husband Joseph of Atlanta, GA, and Judith Harris and her husband John of Dallas, TX; step-daughter Ione Mineart Carr of Vero Beach, FL; sisters: Bethelene Friday and Jacqueline Resnick, both of Pomona, CA, and Phyllis Meeks of Enid, OK; and grandchildren: Chloe Harris of San Francisco, Zachary Schlobohm and his wife Sarah of Lakeland, FL, Natalie Wages and her husband Matt of Oakland, CA, Lauren Olesh and her husband Joseph of Reston, VA, and Erin McElveen and her husband Michael of Rome, GA; and great-grandsons Lucas Joseph Olesh and Samuel Zachary Schlobohm.

A gathering of friends of family will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday August 14, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm on Friday August 15 at Cotrell Chapel with Rev. J.C. Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A vibrant, hard-working, generous woman with a hearty, contagious laugh, Liz lived many chapters in her 89 years?each one to its fullest. She said she had all she ever needed: Her family and her church were everything.
