Mary Ann (Estes) Powell

Mary Ann Powell, 51, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Mrs. Powell was born Aug. 3, 1960 in Paw Paw, Mich. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Powell previously worked at The Cedargate Care Center in Poplar Bluff as Dietary Manager. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and collecting Wizard of Oz memorabilia.

On July 27, 1981, she married Leslie Powell in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Melissa Heffington and husband Troy of Minnesota; stepson, Travis Eaker of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Elizabeth Rider of Blythdale, Mo.; and three brothers, Michael Estes of Jefferson City, Mo., Jessie Estes of Rolla, Mo. and Jeff Rider of Dudley, Mo.

Her father, Virgil Estes and mother, Betty (Williams) Rider Estes preceded Mrs. Powell in death.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial followed at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Coon Island Cemetery in Butler County with The Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
