Mary Sue Powers, 91, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas.
Mrs. Powers was born Nov. 23, 1919 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, and had retired from the Butler County Health Department. Mrs. Powers enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting.
On Aug. 23, 1946, she married Roy Mack Powers. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1989.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Mack Powers and wife Wilma of Murphy, Tex.; a step-son, Bruce Powers and wife Vicki of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Shawn Powers and wife Amanda and Keith Powers and wife Sammi; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Powers and Ryleigh Powers; a sister, Mart Franklin of Columbia, Miss.; and special cousins, Ted and Louise Phelps of Eldorado, Ark.
Her parents, Marion and Maud (Lane) Bristow also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. Luther Abbott officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
