Mary Frances Stacy, 84, of Poplar Bluff, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Stacy was born November 11, 1925 in Knobel, Ark. She was a homemaker and a 45 year member of Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.
She was first married to Vernon High who died in 1945, a casualty of WWII. In 1951 she was married to Glendon Charles Stacy and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Alti Lauderdale and husband Charles of Springfield, Mo. and Okinawa Rose and husband Ron of Trenton, Mo.; one son Glendon Stacy, Jr. and wife Debbie of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Staci Lauderdale, Ronnie Rose II, Rachel Compere and husband David, Matt Stacy and wife Stacy, and Sara Cole and husband Darrin; ten great grandchildren, Laurisa Lauderdale, Kelsey Lauderdale, Luke Rose, Clayton Compere, Grant Compere, Addison Compere, Logan Kennedy, Megan Stacy, Mattilyn Stacy, and Emmy Kate Cole. Also surviving are two sisters, Ella Bell of Heber Springs, Ark. and Lucille Thomas and husband Earl of Hot Springs, Ark.; and two brothers, Ray Hancock and wife Merlene of Albany, Oregon and Ross Hancock and wife Fay of Rector, Ark.
Mrs. Stacy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Harrison and Ethyl Pearl (Morris) Hancock, two sisters, Hazel Catt and Ruth Hancock; and three brothers, Russell Hancock, Robert Hancock and Raymond Hancock.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family request memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church.
