Mary Louise Stagner

Mary Louise Stagner, 70, of Poplar Bluff Mo., passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Stagner, the daughter of the late Eugene and Alma (Lewis) Wells was born July 31, 1945 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Over the years she worked as a loan officer for GMAC Finance Company as well as an administrative assistant for M & A Electric Power Coop. She was a long time member of the E.A.A. (Experimental Aircraft Assoc.) where she volunteered as a convention instruction worker. Mrs. Stagner was the Queen of the Cardinal Red Hat Chapter of The Red Hat Society and was a past member of the Altrusa Organization. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cross-stitching and making crafts.

On July 18, 1980, she was married to Robert Stagner in Poplar Bluff. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four children: Tina (Jeff) Foster of Poplar Bluff, Laura Anderson of Jacksonville Fla., David (Charlotte) Stagner and Robert (Penny) Stagner of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren: Logan Foster, Dylan Foster, Corey Stagner, Lauren Stagner, Marc McClure, Michelle Reese, Jennifer Barker, Blake Stagner and Alex Stagner; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beth Sanders of East Prairie, Mo.; and two brothers: Charles Wells of Little Rock, Ark. and Robert Wells of Bossier City, La.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
