Marylou Dinkins

MaryLou Dinkins was born Aug. 11, 1937 in Winger, Minn. and passed away January 1, 2017 at her home in Wappapello, Mo. after a lengthy battle with cancer.

After retirement, MaryLou lived in Stonewall and Keatchie, La. before returning to Wappapello in 2014 to the home where she raised five children.

MaryLou is survived by son, Ronnie Dinkins of Wappapello; daughters, Debbie Downing and husband, Buzz of Poplar Bluff, Bonnie Luttrell and husband, Tommy of Keatchie, La., daughter-in-law, Joy Dinkins of Festus, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her parents, Olaus and Ellen (Erickson) Flermoen, brothers Kenneth and Louie Flermoen, sisters Delois Truehl and Hazel Roed, and two sons, Lenny and Jeffrey Dinkins preceded her in death.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. A private graveside service will be at a later date at the Dinkins Family Cemetery in Wappapello

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of donor’s choice.
