Matthew S. Quay, 89, of St. James, MO passed away on March 13, 2019 at Missouri Veterans Home of St. James, Missouri.

Matthew was born on December 28, 1929 to John and Evelyn Manspeaker in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Matthew enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 at the age 15 later receiving his GED. He served tours in WWII, Korea War, and Vietnam War which he was awarded the Bronze Star and European Theater Medal. One of his most memorable experiences include serving as Special Escort Guard at the Nuremberg Trials in Germany. After serving 26 years in the Army he enjoyed a successful real estate career.

Matthew is survived by four daughters, Debra Quay (Arne Astad), Valerie Quay, Pandora Napoli (Robert), Susan Greb (Edward) , one son Bret Quay (Karla) and two stepsons, Stephen Tucker, Christopher Tucker (Shana); nine granddaughters Megan Napoli Carson (Carl) , Christina Napoli, Rebecca Napoli, Halle Storbakken, Hannah Greb, Emma Astad, Ashley Steele (Perry), Amanda Zorn, Teagan Tucker; four grandsons Matthew Greb, Matthew Leeds, Brian Leeds, Brody Tucker and six great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Matthew was blessed with three wonderful spouses who preceded him in death Elizabeth (Liz) McCoy, Beulah (Fran) Myrick and Martha (Jane) Krugh; his parents, one sister Helen Quay Ventress and one brother Bill (Dink) Quay.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 18, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 18, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery Shelter.
