Maude Novella Mitchelle Dotson, 96, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Dotson was born May 27, 1914 in Bloomfield, Mo. She was a Charter member of New Home General Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Dotson was a member of the Ladies Aid Group and East Highway Club. She graduated from the first LPN class sponsored by Doctor's Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, and later retired after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and fishing.
She was married to Otto L. Mitchelle. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1966. She later married Ralph Dotson. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1978.
Survivors include, 4 children, Helen Willingham and husband Don of Springfield, Mo., Marilyn Edwards and husband Virgil of Desloge, Mo., Rosetta Christian and husband Myron and Otto L. Mitchelle, Jr. and wife, Cindy all of Poplar Bluff; 8 grandchildren, Doug Willingham and wife, Karen, David Willingham and wife, Elaine, Stephen Willingham and wife, Kate, Donna Fedor, Deborah Christian, Joe Christian, Timothy Edwards and Susan Farmer, and Phillip Edwards and wife, Mary; 15 great-grandchildren, Michael Fedor, Sarah Mauer and husband, Troy, Stacie Fedor, Daniel Willingham, Vanessa Willingham, Krista Willingham, Mark Willingham, Elisa Willingham, Drew Willingham, Anna Craig, Jacob Christian, Kate Christian, Brenden Edwards, Triston Blackwell and Brittany Franklin; a great-great-grandson, Kristopher Washington; a brother, Bill Jines and wife, Marina, of Enid, Okla.; and her beloved dog, Sally.
Her parents, Benjamin G. and Cora Anna (Hester) Fredwell, and brothers, Clifford Fredwell, Floyd Fredwell, Roy Fredwell, Connie Fredwell and Arvel Fredwell also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating and the Rev. Don Willingham assisting. Burial will be at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
