Melvin Bodine Stewart

Melvin Bodine Stewart, 78, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Saturday, November, 15, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Stewart was born August 8, 1936 in Tippah County, Mississippi, to the late Lester Homer and Mildred Idona Bishop Stewart.
On July 26, 1957 he and Betty Joyce Goodson were married in Aurora, Illinois. She survives of the home.
Mr. Stewart was a member of Black River Baptist Church, were he also served as a deacon. He served his country in the United States Army and worked for 33 years as a counselor for Sears Youth Center. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing and deer hunting.
Along with his wife he is survived by his three sons: Ray Stewart, (Kelly) of Moberly, MO, Rick Stewart, (Diana), of Poplar Bluff, and Ronnie Stewart, (Paula), of Mammoth Spring, AR; eight grandchildren: Chandra, Cody, Josh, April, Justin, Lindsay, Kaitlin and Jacob; and three great grandchildren: Victoria, Brylee and Paisley.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 ? 8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at the chapel on Wednesday, at 1 p.m., with Brother Henry Pasquet officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Bernie Cemetery.
