Merle Bailey Tattersall

Merle B. Tattersall, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Florida, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Merle, the daughter of the late William and Delia Carroll Bailey, was born Nov. 21, 1927, in Live Oak, Fla. She was of the Baptist faith, and had retired after many years as a restaurant owner. Merle enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son, William C. “Bill” Caputo and wife Judy of Poplar Bluff; two granddaughters, Tara Caputo and Shanna Carr and husband Richard; three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Keaton and Kannon Carr; a sister, Joan Ross of Florida; and five step-children: Phyllis Tattersall, Tommy Tattersall, Larry Tattersall and wife Linda, David Tattersall and wife Michelle and Donna Ford all of Florida.

Her husband Alan Tattersall, a son, James Richard Caputo, a step-son, Lee Tattersall, two sisters, Flora Mae Bass and Sybil Gordon and three brothers, Ross Bailey, Barney Bailey and Dick Bailey also preceded Merle in death.

A graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Jack Woodfin officiating.
