Michael Joseph Darrell Smith

Michael Joseph ""Darrell"" Smith, 54, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Smith was born March 26, 1958 in Chicago, Ill. He was of the Baptist faith, and had previously worked as a nursing home cook. Mr. Smith enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and being outdoors.

Survivors include his twin sister, Debra Smith of Champaign, Ill.; brother, William Smith Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, William and Annie Gladney Smith preceded him in death.

A graveside service and interment of ashes will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with The Rev. Keith Frye officiating.
