Mickie Lee Hicks

Mickie Lee Hicks, 76, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at his residence

Mr. Hicks was born June 17, 1938 in Holcomb, Mo., to the late Bertie B. and Gladys E. Smith Hicks. He had retired from Greer Construction Company and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hicks enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.

On Nov. 26, 1965, he married Alice Wade in St. Louis. She survived at the time of his passing, but preceded him shortly thereafter.

Survivors include two daughters: Patricia A. Goodale (Roger), of Poplar Bluff and Rebekah L. Tompkins (Shannon), of Williamsville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Hicks, of Campbell, Mo.

A son, Michael Hicks, a sister, Rosa Sharon "Sue" Hobbs and a brother, John Hicks also preceded Mr. Hicks in death.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. The Rev. Tim Schutz will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at Little Brushy Cemetery.
