Mildred L. Darnell

Mildred L. Darnell, 86, of Williamsville, Mo. passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Darnell was born Aug. 31, 1926 in Campbell, Mo.

After graduating from high school she attended Business College in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Darnell was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School, and worked as a billing clerk for Ozark Border Electric Coop 13 years. Mrs. Darnell loved working in her church, her children, pets, and gardening, and was an avid crotchetier.

On April 8, 1951, she married James L. Darnell at Lone Hill Baptist Church in Butler County. He survives.

Other survivors include her son, Jeff Darnell (Mary) of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Matt Darnell and Doug Darnell also of Poplar Bluff; and sister, Mary Virginia Kime of Wappapello, Mo.

Her parents, W.E. and Mattie Sanders Arnold preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Funeral chapel with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County.
