Mildred Louise Dell age 76 of Huntley formerly longtime resident of St. Charles passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the home of her daughter after a long struggle with breast cancer surrounded by her family.
She was born February 3, 1933 Poplar Bluff, the daughter of Thomas and Leonna (Hendrickson) Kearbey.
Mildred met Delmar Dell at an ice cream Shop in Poplar Bluff while he was in the U. S. Navy. They married August 11, 1950 and were stationed in Maryland for several years. They lived in Texas and followed construction till they landed in St. Charles where they lived and raised their family for over 40 years. In her younger days she was an avid bowler, and loved to go boating and plant flowers in her yard. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Dell loved her family and was very proud of them.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Ron) Hallead of Huntley; two sons, Tim (Jackie) and Rick Dell all of St. Charles; 6 grandchildren: Cassy (Greg) Bohlin of Plato Center, Nancy (Geoff) Starr of Cortland, Austin and Carter Dell and Dallas and Payton Dell all of St. Charles; 4 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Mackenzie Starr and Dalton and Sydney Bohlin; 2 sisters: Mattie Belle (Raymond) Aldridge and Barbara Davis; and her brother, Richard (Carolyn) Kearbey all of Poplar Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and Thomas Kearbey; son Michael and by her husband Delmar.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.
Interment will follow at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
