Mildred "Millie" M. Macom Hixson

Mildred "Millie" Marie Hixson, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Hixson, the daughter of the late William F. and Minnie C. Buelteman Macom, was born April 12, 1939 in Poplar Bluff. She was an active member of the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff and had retired from AAA Insurance Company as a customer service representative and licensed insurance agent.

She devoted her life to helping her family, her church family and those in need. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

In 2007, she was married to James MacDaniel "Mac" Hixson. He preceded her in death in 2012.

Survivors include a two nieces, Debbie (Dave) Lyden and Judy Hartwell; a nephew, Roger (Doreen) Macom; a great niece, Jennifer Macom; two great-great-nieces, Emily VonRuden and Aubrey VonRuden; her sister-in-law, Dianne Macom; and her sweet church family.

Three brothers, William "Bill" Macom, Ernest "Hank" Macom and James "Jim" Macom; and a nephew, Raymond Macom, and a niece, Sandra Helfrich also preceded Mrs. Hixson in death.

A graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with the Rev. Ben Higgins officiating.
